Spay Panamá, el primer día

Buenos noches, amigos.

Today was day 1 of the Spay Panamá clinic, and it was definitely a “learn by doing” situation! We saw hundreds of animals come by the clinic today for spaying, neutering, and other health services. Any time a vet or vet tech yelled out “TAXI!”, it was our job to move their animal from one station to the next. This was sometimes quite easy, as there were kittens and puppies that weighed one pound or less, and sometimes very difficult, as with the case of a very large, floppy Rottweiler. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted! Lots of pet owners, though, are going to sleep tonight with their worries about their pets eased, and that’s worth it.

We also met an American Air Force veteran while getting ice cream tonight, and we had a lovely conversation. He was very impressed with Liz and Ali for giving up their vacation week to do service. :)

Sleep tight! We certainly will down here!
